The Pistoia Alliance, a global, not-for-profit, precompetitive alliance of life science companies, publishers, and academics, is pleased to announce its inaugural conference and members' meeting. We invite scientists and informatics professionals in life science R&D to learn how the Pistoia Alliance is lowering barriers to innovation by improving the interoperability of R&D business processes. The conference will feature talks from industry analysts about the future of R&D informatics, discussion about the role of precompetitive collaboration in life science R&D, and demos from Pistoia Alliance working groups of current proof of concepts.

Special thanks to Pistoia Alliance member Thomson Reuters for graciously offering to host the meeting on its campus in Boston, which is near the conference centre where the Bio-IT World Conference and Expo will be held from 12–14 April 2011. The Pistoia Conference will end before the Bio-IT World conference starts on 12 April.
